Wayne Stetski's Record: Vote 22

July 18, 2019

As Member of Parliament for Kootenay-Columbia Rob Morrison will protect all freedoms afforded to Canadians under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. A stark contrast to the voting record of Wayne Stetski...

Some of the protections include freedom of religion, of equality, of thought, of expression, of the press and of peaceful assembly. It goes on to include others such the right to participate in political activities and the right to a democratic government. Each one is critically important and this document is the cornerstone to our democracy.

So why, on March 21, 2016, did Mr. Stetski vote with Justin Trudeau against the following motion:

Office of Religious Freedom (Vote 22)
That the House (a) recognize the good work being done by Canada’s Office of Religious Freedom, in particular its work within the Department of Global Affairs to build the Department's capacity to address threats to religious freedom, and to directly promote peace, freedom, tolerance, and communal harmony; and, as a consequence, (b) call on the government to renew the current mandate of the Office, since the continuation of its vital work is needed now more than ever.

When elected I will act to reestablish the Office of Religious Freedom.
