Plastic pollution is a real problem that needs to be addressed. We need to improve how plastic waste is recycled in Canada. A report done earlier this year by consulting firms Deloitte and ChemInfo Services commissioned by Environment and Climate Change Canada found in 2016 only nine per cent of plastic waste was recycled in Canada, with 87 per cent ending up in landfills. A Conservative government, with Rob Morrison as MP in Kootenay-Columbia, will work with the provinces and territories and with experts and industry to fix Canada’s recycling systems and address plastic pollution.
