The Directors of the Kootenay-Columbia Conservative Association and Kootenay-Columbia Conservative Candidate, Rob Morrison, invite you to attend this very special event in Creston with former Leader of the Opposition, Deborah Grey. Join your Conservative friends and these special guests for chocolate and a taste of Winnwood wines. Hosted by Kootenay-Columbia Conservative Association Directors, George and Judy Green.
Background: Deborah Grey served as Reform's deputy leader and caucus chairwoman until March 2000, when the Reform Party was folded into the Canadian Alliance. When Preston Manning stepped down as Leader of the Opposition to contest the Alliance leadership race, Grey was appointed Leader of the Opposition. She was the first female Leader of the Opposition in Canadian history. Grey served as the Western chairwoman of the Conservative campaign in the 2006 election, in which Harper became Prime Minister of Canada.
